Komal is very close to the classical forms of yoga practice and has trained intensively in Hatha Yoga to a level of 500+ hours throughout India, France, London and California, including three Teacher Training courses with the Sivananda Yoga Centres. She has a deep understanding of asanas and pranayama and has completed two Meditation Certificates, a Panchakarma Programme in Ayurveda and various courses on classical scriptures such as the Raja Yoga Sutras and the Gita.

Komal’s classes draw upon the use of asanas, pranayama, concentration exercises, mantras and mindfulness with the intention of reducing mental scattering and promoting the relaxation of the nervous system. Expect to be mentally challenged and learn how to use the power of your concentration to gain further strength and precision for your balancing postures and inversions. Komal is super hands-on with her adjustments and you can expect precise guidance and support for your practice. Every session ends with a guided relaxation or meditation and an inspiring reading on yoga philosophy.

The level of the class fluctuates to accommodate those present, but all postures are taught in building blocks so you can choose how far you’d like to go. In Hatha, progress is measured by the quality of your attention and not by your physical strength or flexibility, so if you are open to trying the intermediate on Wednesdays, come along!
