Stress begins with a physiological response to what your mind and body perceives as a ‘’life threatening” situation, setting the body into “fight or flight mode”: the heart rate, blood pressure, mental alertness and muscle tension are increased. Although this is a healthy and necessary reaction in a real situation of danger, it becomes rather depleting when it is triggered on regular basis by chronic stress and anxiety, affecting the digestion and elimination process, the immune system, the ability to focus and think clearly, and also the quality of sleep.

This workshop will help to breathe better, release deep-seated tension, experience calm and peace at the essence of your being. The sequence will include long held nurturing postures with breath awareness to build reservoirs of energy, calm the mind and balance the nervous system. We will use blocks, blankets, bolsters and other props to create spaciousness and ease, and allow deep relaxation. You will be given practical tips to reduce stress and anxiety in your daily life.

This workshop is open to all levels, including complete beginners.
