TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a powerful method for experiencing relief from stress, anxiety and trauma, by releasing deeply held tension in the body.

TRE® unravels chronic patterns of stress and tension stored in the muscles, and discharges stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, by activating the body’s natural ability to shake. This shaking process occurs through accessing the body’s tremor mechanism existing in all mammals, which is the body’s most natural way of coming down from the fight-flight-freeze response.

In this four-week course you will learn the technique and be able to safely continue with TRE® on your own at home, experiencing profound benefits to your emotional, mental and physical wellbeing over time. Benefits
Over the four weeks you will learn a set of seven exercises designed to fatigue the muscles, invoking the body’s innate ability to shake.  After the exercises we then lie on the mat, remaining present, and allowing the tremors to move through the body naturally. Most people report a feeling of relaxation while doing TRE® and others experience a physical or emotional release during the session.

We will have only 6 people max in the group to assure that everyone is supported with the process individually.

Since this shaking mechanism in the muscles is part of our natural behaviour as humans, everyone can benefit from TRE. This shaking of the muscles increases the resiliency of the body because it causes deep relaxation that naturally reduces stress levels. It can release emotions ranging from mild upset to severe anxiety whether it is caused by work stress, excessive worry, conflict in relationships, physical stresses or traumas from accidents.

Whether you are a parent/spouse who would like more patience with your family, a victim of violence or accident, a soldier suffering with PTSD, an athlete, or simply a person who wants to become more resilient and just feel better about life, you can benefit from TRE.

Classes last 1hr 15mins. A TRE® class involves exercises that activate an involuntary shaking mechanism which causes your muscles to relax. Relaxing tense muscle patterns can often reduce stress in the spine, neck, shoulders and pelvis. When tension is released anywhere in the body, the brain registers a reduction in pain signals, producing new hormones that promotes healing. TRE®’s reflexive muscle vibrations generally feel pleasant and soothing. After doing TRE®, many people report feelings of peace and well-being.

The last 15 minutes will be integration time and include a Yoga nidra practice.
