Martin Armitage-Smith

Life Coach.

"I have a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Life Coaching and a MA in Psychosynthesis Leadership & Organisational Coaching. My 4 years of deep psychological training have taught me the value of listening and paying attention to my clients at different levels. In Psychosynthesis Coaching we are very much working with these different levels of the human being and as the coaching alliance deepens clients report a rise in their own self-awareness and their ability to understand themselves psychologically."

Martin has a first class degree from Cambridge University (1986) and has studied, lived and worked in North and East Africa. His unusually diverse career has included 20 years as a trader and analyst in The City as well as Fine Art angel investing, game inventing, healing, editing, and also a long spell as a social entrepreneur. I remain a director of two companies involved in African music and two in the new energy tech sector. This very varied experience has given Martin a window on the world which he believes can add a lot of value to the coaching alliance.

Martin is in the middle of writing 3 books, one of which will form the basis of a new coaching product aimed at enhancing inter-cultural communication at work. His MA thesis explored the psychological impacts – historic and present-day – of British colonialism. He is particularly interested in the deep structure of culture and the considerable benefits of becoming more aware of how our culture (often unconsciously) impacts us.
