You are invited to luxuriate and experience a deep, two and a half hour workshop for the Heart Chakra on both a physical level via gentle backbends and shoulder openers (in both the Vinyasa Flow and Yin) and secondly the metaphysical, via a visualisation and intention during a guided meditation and the deep relaxation in Yoga Nidra at the end, seeding our Sankalpa. Visualise and seed your intentions for the year ahead.

When this energetic centre is in harmony we feel self-acceptance, trust, compassionate, forgiving, full of hope and it is far easier to conceptualize a higher reality for ourselves. The element of the Heart Chakra is Air and so we will be connecting to a feeling of spaciousness, expansion and inspired freedom via movement and breath.

On a physical level, this Yin Yang workshop will be excellent for anyone looking to free space in the shoulder and neck, relieving tension and stiffness in the thoracic spine - safely targeting the upper torso, back, and neck.

On a deeper level – anything we wish to truly manifest in our lives must initiate from a heart-centred space since it plays an important role in transforming ideas into physical reality, acting as a bridge between the earthly (lower three) chakras and the more subtle (higher three) chakra.


  • Samantha Rogers

    Samantha is a qualified Vinyasa flow and Hatha Yoga teacher. Drawing on 10 years' of practice, Samantha weaves elements of Jivamukti, Kundalini in addition to Yin and Restorative to create an intelligent flow style, one in which can be adapted to varying levels and tempos.

  • Guided meditation, pranayama and mudra

    We will begin with a powerful intention / sankalpa setting garnering personal meaning during a quiet guided heart centred meditation. There will be a short talk on the dynamics and themes of the heart chakra, meridians that serve the heart chakra and intentions so we are firm in our practice.

  • Vinyasa flow – The most physical part of the practice

    You will be taken through a flow / dynamic moving meditation to target the heart chakra by way of accessing muscles / joints associated with the chest and heart space. The flow is open level since variations of mild to strong backbends will be provided.

  • Yin Yoga – following an agni (heat) producing dynamic yogic flow

    An opportunity exists to soften and melt further into the heart space by means of gentle, restorative back bends supported by bolsters and blocks, enabling us to experience true stillness, calmness of being and presence via various techniques in breathing, awareness and mindfulness.

  • Yoga Nidra after having connected and slowed with Yin

    Our attention will be taken back our intentions as we embed these into our subconscious. It is guided meditation whilst lying down & it is the bridge between wakefulness and sleep. Yoga Nidra is said to change the nature of the mind by access to both the unconscious and subconscious states.
