You are invited to create and conceptualise a fulfilling year ahead by way of connecting to the Heart Chakra during this vinyasa flow and yin yoga workshop. Heart Chakra themes include transformation and integration - anything we wish to truly manifest in our lives must initiate from a heart centred space since it plays an important role in transforming ideas into physical reality, acting as a bridge between the earthly (lower three) chakras and the more subtle (higher three) chakras.
When this energetic centre is in harmony we feel self acceptance, trust, compassionate, forgiving, full of hope and it is far easier to conceptualise a higher reality for ourselves. On a physical level, since we are targeting the upper torso, back and neck this workshop is also ideal for anyone suffering from stiffness of the shoulders and neck. The element of the Heart Chakra is Air and so we will be connecting to a feeling of spaciousness, expansion and inspired freedom via movement and breath.

Samantha is a qualified Vinyasa flow and Hatha Yoga teacher. Drawing on 10 years' of practice, Samantha weaves elements of Jivamukti, Kundalini in addition to Yin and Restorative to create an intelligent flow style, one in which can be adapted to varying levels and tempos.
We will carve our path and journey for the year ahead by indulging in powerful intention /sankalpa setting exercise during a quiet guided heart centred meditation to begin. There will be a short talk on the dynamics and themes of the heart chakra, meridians that serve the heart chakra.
We will go through a dynamic moving meditation to target the heart chakra by accessing muscles / joints associated with the chest and heart space. Various backbends and heart centre related poses are linked to the flow of breath, enabling us to connect whilst breathing life into our intentions.
It is an opportunity exists to soften and melt further into the heart space by means of gentle, restorative back bends supported by bolsters and blocks, enabling us to experience true stillness, calmness of being and presence via various techniques in breathing, awareness and mindfulness.
Having connected and slowed with Yin, our attention will be taken back our intentions as we embed these into our subconscious. Yoga Nidra is guided meditation whilst lying down and translates to yoga sleep, it is the bridge between wakefulness and sleep.
